This song was one of the loose idea’s that was first conceived in the summer of 2013. At that time, only the chorus was written. I was currently writing for my last project “Wake to Mourning” and since most of the songs on that album were dark and gloomy, this song was shelved for a later opportune moment. When I started writing for Dedication, I revisited this song to see what i could do with it. While writing for “Union” I was stuck on the verses. To rid my writer’s block, I would catch up on Doctor Who. While watching, I grew a deep infatuation toward one actress in the show, Karen Gillan. With the fresh images of her face in my mind, I then decided to write it strictly for her in tribute, once again going back to the “dedication” concept. I also want to point out that I threw in some Doctor Who related easter eggs in the verses and bridge of the song. A die hard fan of the show would most likely pick up on them.
